Terms of Service

1. What PlateDash is
PlateDash is a subscription software service for restaurants: a complete, hardware-free point-of-sale system. It turns your printed menu into a digital menu reachable by QR code; lets your guests order from their own phones for dine-in at your tables, delivery or takeaway; lets your staff take orders for guests through named staff QR codes and PINs; and gives you the dashboard, orders board, cashier portal, kitchen display, online card payments into your own Safepay account, bill printing, merged table bills, tax handling, the daily X-Read ledger and reporting to run your whole service — all on the phones and screens you already own, with no terminals or other hardware required.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your password confidential. One account is tied to one restaurant.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including actions of the cashier and kitchen staff accounts you create (see section 6).
3. Subscription and billing
PlateDash is a paid subscription — one plan, Rs 15,000 per month, billed monthly through Safepay. The plan includes everything; there are no per-order platform fees, no commission and no trial period.
Your subscription renews automatically each month on your Safepay account. You can cancel anytime inside your Safepay dashboard; your access ends when Safepay notifies us. Payments already made are not refunded except where required by law.
If a payment fails, Safepay retries it. If it ultimately fails, the service is locked until you re-authorize the subscription (Settings → Billing). Your data is not deleted when a subscription lapses.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You keep full ownership of your menus, images, prices and restaurant information. You grant us only the right to store and display that content so the service can function.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your menu — prices, descriptions, allergen and dietary labels. AI extraction is a starting point; you review everything before it goes live, and the final menu your guests see is your responsibility.
Allergy and dietary information shown to guests comes from you. Guests with allergies must always confirm directly with your restaurant.
You are responsible for fulfilling orders your guests place, for the quality and safety of your food, and for complying with local food, tax and licensing laws.
For delivery orders: you are the seller of your own food and solely responsible for delivering it (or arranging its delivery) to the address the guest provides. We only pass the address and contact details you need to fulfil the order — see our Privacy Policy. Any delivery fee you set is charged by you to the guest; we do not take any share of it.
5. PlateDash is a software platform, not a seller, payment processor or tax agent
The services work in a three-party structure that is standard in the industry: Safepay (a payment processor), PlateDash (software that restaurants subscribe to), and you (the seller of your own food to your own guests). Safepay is not PlateDash, and PlateDash is not Safepay — Safepay processes payments under its own agreements with you.
You are the seller of record for every order placed through your menu — dine-in, delivery, and orders your staff enter on a guest's behalf. We never sell food, never take orders as a principal, and never act as your agent. Your relationship with your guests — including refunds, disputes, chargebacks, food quality, service complaints and consumer-law obligations — is entirely yours.
We never touch your money or your taxes. Guest card payments are processed by Safepay directly into your own Safepay account; cash payments are collected by you or your staff at your tables and counters. PlateDash does not hold, receive, forward, pool or disburse any guest payments at any point. Your only financial obligation to us is the Rs 15,000 monthly subscription — food revenue, delivery fees and tax amounts all belong to you.
Tax is yours, end to end. The tax feature (GST, VAT, sales tax or similar) is a calculation and display tool only: it applies the rate and label you configure to your bills and reports. You remain solely responsible for registering for taxes, choosing correct rates and labels, charging them lawfully, remitting everything collected to the relevant tax authority, and filing returns. PlateDash is not a tax advisor, tax agent or tax collector, gives no tax advice, and does not verify that your tax settings are correct or lawful for your jurisdiction. If a tax authority questions your tax handling, that is your matter alone.
You are also solely responsible for compliance with all other laws that apply to running your restaurant — food safety, licensing, employment, minimum wage, consumer protection, data protection for your guest data, and anti-fraud. Any fraud committed by you, your staff, or anyone acting on your menu — including fraudulent orders, mispriced or misleading bills, or misdeclared taxes — is your responsibility and not ours. We provide tools; how you operate your business with them is your decision and your liability.
We may assist restaurants generally with using the software, but customer service for your guests, receipts required by law, and legal notifications are your obligations, not ours.
Refunds, disputes and cancellations are the restaurant's alone. PlateDash is not a marketplace and never a party to the sale: the contract of sale is directly and only between you and your guest. Any refund a guest requests — wrong order, late delivery, food quality, a cancelled order or anything else — is decided, issued and funded entirely by you. For card payments you issue refunds from your own Safepay dashboard, and Safepay's rules apply. PlateDash does not hold any funds to refund from and has no ability to force, process or reverse a refund on your behalf.
6. Staff accounts, staff QR codes and your team
You create and control staff access: cashier accounts, kitchen accounts, and named staff ordering QR codes. Staff accounts and QR codes are credentials you issue to your own employees. You are responsible for who you give them to, for supervising how your team uses them, and for removing access when staff leave. Orders entered by your staff (including cash amounts recorded at your counters) are your business records — treat the Daily X-Read and staff ledger as your audit trail. We are not the employer of your staff, and we are not liable for their actions, their cash handling, or any discrepancy between the cash they collected and what your reports show.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. That includes: uploading menus or images you have no right to use, placing fraudulent orders, attempting to access another restaurant's data, interfering with the service's operation, or using it for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
8. Guest orders
Guests order through your public menu page without creating an account. The order details they enter (name, phone, table) are shared with you so you can serve them. You act as the controller of that customer data and must handle it lawfully.
If you enable online payments, guests pay through your own Safepay account, which you connect to PlateDash with your Safepay API credentials. You are the merchant of record for those payments: refunds, disputes, chargebacks and sales tax are your responsibility, and Safepay's own terms apply to your account. PlateDash never holds or forwards your funds — guest payments settle directly to your Safepay account. Your keys are stored encrypted and are used only to create payment trackers and verify the payment webhook notifications on your behalf.
9. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, provider outages or factors outside our control may cause downtime. Always keep a way to take orders manually during service.
We may improve, change or retire features over time. If a change materially reduces what your plan includes, we will give reasonable notice.
10. Limitation of liability and indemnification
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost revenue, lost orders, missed customers — arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
You indemnify us.To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold PlateDash (and its owners, staff, agents and suppliers) harmless from every claim, demand, loss, liability and cost — including reasonable attorneys' fees — made by anyone because of: (a) your breach of these terms; (b) your violation of any law or a third party's rights; or (c) any aspect of the transactions between you and your guests — including refunds, chargebacks, fraudulent or disputed orders, food safety or allergy incidents, consumer-law claims, and taxes you charged or failed to charge. If we are ever named in a lawsuit over your restaurant's business, you will cover our defense and any resulting liability.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination and account deletion
You can stop using PlateDash and cancel your subscription at any time. Cancelling the subscription stops future billing but does not delete your account or data. We may terminate access for breach of these terms. On termination your right to use the service ends.
Account deletion is a manual process. To permanently delete your restaurant account and all its data — menus, orders, QR codes, reports — email support@platedash.pro from your account owner address. We will verify the request and complete the deletion within a reasonable period. Verification protects your data: deletion requests are accepted only from the account owner, because deleted data cannot be recovered. Before requesting deletion, export or print anything you need (reports, bills) — they will not exist afterwards.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify account owners by email. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
